Our Services
Our services all have the same aim – supporting people to live happy and fulfilled lives. We focus on the abilities of each person rather than any disabilities.
We have particularly developed our service for people with severe or profound learning disabilities and other associated complex needs such as physical disabilities, autism or sensory requirements.
We provide permanent residential care and supported living services in carefully- adapted houses and attractive, purpose-built accommodation. We will adapt our accommodation/ facilities wherever possible to meet each person’s needs.
We employ an experienced physiotherapist and a speech and language therapist. This enables quick, expert input if required. We have strong professional links with dieticians, dentists, district nurses and the local learning disability team.
Our care relies on our staff knowing people really well and our staff teams are highly trained and motivated. We operate a ‘key worker’ system and recently achieved the highest possible award with Investors in People. Training programmes go above and beyond mandatory courses. They include: Effective communication and Intensive Interaction (an essential and rewarding way of communicating), Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Safe Swallowing, The causes and consequences of disabilities, Epilepsy, Dementia, Blind Awareness, Signing, Posture/mobility, pressure area care and P.E.G. feeding amongst others.
Everyone has a carefully prepared care plan, detailed health action plan and a person centred plan to enable the highest quality support. A Lifestyle activity programme is also tailored to their needs which may include physiotherapy or speech and language therapy.
Due to physical problems such as cerebral palsy, some people may have problems with swallowing. We employ specially trained cooks who cater for particular dietary needs. Tasty, freshly-prepared, nutritious food is very high on our agenda.
